Pear Tree

The pear tree is a woody essence very common in Italy, although until a few years ago it was not very commercialized for luthiers. It grows throughout the Italian peninsula and has a very compact and fine texture, in reddish-brown color.

It has always been used in cabinet making and turnery. In the violin making the pear wood thanks to its characteristics is used for frames and in the past has not been disdained for the construction of the soundbox.
